[SOLVED] New Battery Stuck on 0%

Got a new battery for my Acer Aspire laptop. It came charged, but showed only 70% charge even after a full night charge. Did a calibration by letting it running completely out then charging again. It is running and appears to be charging...status window says "plugged in, charging"...but charge staying at 0%.

Did you get the battery from Acer or is it 3rd party replacement?

It is a 3rd party replacement. Update to my original post...the battery is NOT charging at all.

Is the voltage, other numbers on the new battery the same as the old one?

Try resetting power options to default settings -
START | type power | select "power options" | choose power plan | reset to defaults

jc,

Turns out that's the problem. Double checked it yesterday before you even sent this, but your hunch is right. Wrong battery. The replacement is listed at 14.8V while the original is 10.8V. That must be the issue. Thanks.
