[SOLVED] Network not recognizing internet after graphic card upgrade

624 Views 2 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  cmdrchristof
Hi I upgraded from a Nvidia 6800gt to a 8600gt and added a gig of ram as well.

At first the machine didn't recognize the card but I fixed that with an updated driver download using another computer as the one I did the upgrade on was no longer recognizing the internet, still recognizing that the computer is connected to the router through Ethernet cable.

Can anyone think why this might be happening the network card is built into the motherboard.

Could lack of power be causing this problem?

Thanks for any help and suggestions

Re: Network not recognizing internet after graphic card upgrade

Hold the Windows key and press R, then type CMD to open a command prompt:

In the command prompt window that opens, type type the following command:

Note that there is a space before the /ALL, but there is NOT a space after the / in the following command.

IPCONFIG /ALL

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter.
Paste the results in a message here.

If you are on a machine with no network connection, use a floppy, USB disk, or a CD-RW disk to transfer a text file with the information to allow pasting it here.

Hi thanks for the reply, but I managed to fix it, for some reason the drivers had gotten corrupted, so we reinstalled them.

Thanks for the reply :D
