[SOLVED] Multiple USB HDD's

1876 Views 4 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  RSpecianjr
Hey,

I have three WD 3.0TB My Book Essential USB Drives. The problem seems to be that they all of them register as Drive E. I'm not sure how to change this or if I am doing somthing wrong. I imagined it would create a drive for each one. pretty lost. I've tried it on a Windows 7 and a Vista machine.

Thanks,

Robert

Re: Multiple USB HDD's

are they all plugged in at the saem time? try going into disk management and change the drive letter.

right click computer - manage - diskmanagement
Re: Multiple USB HDD's

Hey sobeit,

Haha, Good question. Yes they were all plugged in, even installed the driver for the second one (not sure why it would go through that process agian).

I don't have them with me right now so I will try as soon as I get home.

Regards,

Robert

Re: Multiple USB HDD's

If they are all the same model, Windows likely thinks they are all the same drive and is getting confused.

Diskmanagement worked like a charm! Thanks Sobeit!
