my PC:
Intel Pentium 4 CPU 3.00GHz
Windows XP Professional- Service Pack 2
1022 MB Ram
186 GB hard drive

When i boot up my pc and log on, i get four (4) annoying pop up messages.

Message 1:
“□□□□□
Windows cannot find ‘□□□□’. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the Start button, and then click Search.”

Message 2:
“Desktop
Could not load or run ‘□□□□’ specified in the registry. Make sure the file exists on you computer or remove the reference to it in the registry.”

Message 3:(same as #1)
Message 4:(same as #2)

I think these started appearing right after I deleted an anti-virus program that SpyBot said was spyware.

Re: messages pop up at windows start

It sounds like the program was removed, however there are still some remnants left of it.

First please click on and follow the directions in the 5 steps link in my signature below. Once you post a HijackThis log via the instructions in that link the TSF malware removal team will make sure that your system is indeed clean or they will help you remove any spyware they find.

If they give you a clean bill of health and you still are experiencing issues please post back here.
