Re: Memory Dump while playing WoW/Wc3

Hey Yingas

Kinda scary uh ? the computer's rules, "no matter you got the best system you are in chance of having some wierdo errors"

But don't worry we''ll find the solution....

1) update your NVIDIA drivers, try the last ones beta 169.04, remove the ones you have first, restart and then install the new ones

2) vista 32 or 64 ? for vista to see all 4Gb RAM you must use Vista64 that in lots of cases is no good for gamming

3) Try with 2 sticks of ram

4) post your settins, are you Overclocking the quad ? you RAM must have to be set MANUAL and not AUTO

Regards

Re: Memory Dump while playing WoW/Wc3

Hi Yingas and welcome to TSF

I am sorry that not many people have replied back but I will work with you and take ownership of this case . I would like you to navigate to this place with Explorer:

C:\Windows\Minidump

When there create a new compressed Zip folder and place the Dmp files into this folder. In your next reply either upload this Zip Folder to the TSF Server or upload the Zip folder to another server and link it here in your next post.

EDIT: If there are more then one Minidump files put those in the Zip folder too

Thank You for Cooperation,
TechPro5238

Re: Memory Dump while playing WoW/Wc3

It has come to my attention that you might have a heat or voltage issue with your computer. We can not assume that it is one of these so we will go ahead and check. I would like you to download and install the program Speedfan. When you are done installing Speedfan open and look for 3 columns. One should have temperatures, the other should have voltages, and the last one should contain your fan speeds. When you have found this information please post to me in a column such as this: (Example)

Temperatures

Temp1: 30 C
Temp2: 60 C
HD0: 44 C

Voltages (only for desktops)

5.5V: 5.5
3.33V: 3.24

Fan Speeds

Fan1: 2480 RPM

(Remember this is just an example, please post your exact information)
If you are running on a Dell Laptop please follow these steps then post your temperatures, voltages, and fan speeds:

  • Open Speedfan
  • Click Configure on the Main Screen
  • Go to the Options Tab
  • Check the: "Enable DELL Support (use this function only on DELL notebooks)" check box
  • Click Ok then Close Speedfan
  • Start Speedfan once again

Then post your temperatures, voltages, and fan speeds.

As a special case for you please post these results while the computer system is idle and not doing anything, and also put the results of your computer while you are playing a game. The above is my Speedfan premade speech.

Voltages

Vcore1 1.20v
vcore2 3.18
+3.3v 0.00V
+5V 5.05V
+12v 11.71V
-12v -16.97V

Vcore 0.00V
+3.3V 3.18V

Re: Memory Dump while playing WoW/Wc3

Seems that my Windbg utility is having an issue calling the correct symbols so I could no fully debug your minidump files to find the errors. Looking at your Voltages, they are all out of wack. Some are to high, some are extremly low, you have to replace this PSU with a new one. Try borrowing one from a friend that is more powerful than your and see what happens. I have only checked 2 minidumps but they all point towards the kernel so I am guessing it is Hardware. I will keep trying to get the debugger to work in the meantime

Re: Memory Dump while playing WoW/Wc3

as software is not always reliable for the voltages you need to checkit with a multi meter and if what you posted is correct rma the psu

Re: Memory Dump while playing WoW/Wc3

no way im gonna find a multi meter..or figure out how to use it...I know this sounds silly but could this be a result of a pretty sloppy upgrade to vista...nowhere near clean install or no..or another friend suggested that running 4gigs of ram+a 768card on a 32bit can lead to windows not recognizing the last stick of ram correctly and dumps

Re: Memory Dump while playing WoW/Wc3

I have talked with Microsoft Support, and worked on the Windbg issue for a long time. We have found this does point towards RAM, plus you can only have 3.2 Gb of RAM on a 32 bit system. I want you to open up your computer, rub your hands against the casing (if it is metal) and reseat all of your RAM. Also I want you to remove one stick to lower it atleast to the minimum of 3.2. Then play your game and tell me if the error comes back.
