Hi,

Im trying to fix a pc which originally wouldnt connect to the internet, i ran some malware programs and found/removed a lot of infected files. Then the pc began shutting down intermittently (bsod) with various error reports and having searched google i changed the ram but problem persists, although the pc WILL boot and seems ok in safe mode untill i try to install anything.

Next i tried a fresh install on a spare hd i have but it kept shutting down so ive now put a new power supply on and although it doesnt shut down it keeps saying files have not copied correctly during setup and ive tried 2 different xp cds.

Can anyone help me please?

Re: Lots of files not copying during clean install

Barring your not using a hacked or cracked xp cd try this.
Run killdisk, free download do a google for it. Run it, then try and
install windows. If a hdd has a previous os install it leaves alot of
crap on the drive, which will not allow a proper os install.
