[SOLVED] Linux on External HDD

Hi Folks

I went out and bought a Maxtor OneTouch 4 Mini USB HDD today in the hopes that I would be able to install Fedora 9 on it and boot off it and run linux when I felt like it, without affecting my existing system or internal hard drive. I want to keep linux completely separate and external.

So I got as far as (I think) installing Fedora on a 40GB partition at the end of the USB hard drive, but when i try to boot from 'USB Storage Device' all I get is an error message along the lines of "Could not find NTLDR – Press Ctrl Alt Delete to restart."

I assumed this was because I unchecked the box to install the bootloader on sda (as I want to keep it seperate) and I went back in to the installer and chose to upgrade an existing system and then said to install the bootloader at the start of the SDB drive. I thought this would have solved the problem, but I still get the missing NTLDR when I try to boot off the usb device.

Can anyone tell me where I went wrong and how I can fix this problem?
