[SOLVED] LCD screen turns black after a few minutes

The screen was black, I replaced the inverter with a compatible one.
Laptop boots up ok. After a few minutes the screen turns black.
Pressing the lid switch turns it on for 30 seconds.

Is it possible that the new inverter is causing the problem ?

Check the connections are secure.

If you still get an image when the screen dims then most likely issue are inverter, backlight.

What was the issue with the old inverter?

With the old inverter the screen was black from the time the laptop boot up.

Using a flashlight could see a very faint image. Pressing the lid switch would not make any difference.

With the new inverter, boots up fine back goes black after 3 minutes with the adapter and 5 minutes with the battery. When I press the lid switch the screen comes back for 30 seconds. It lasts longer with the battery. Checked connections and all is fine.

Bought the new inverter on Ebay and supposed to be compatible. Maybe it's not.
I'll probably try a used one with the same part #.
