Re: Laptop Internet is dead

Thanks for the information that you have provided, now we can start troubleshooting.

Just to clarify, is this a wireless issue?

Use the Vista's System Restore and restore it to a point when you were able to access the internet. Using Windows 7 or Vista System Restore - How-To Geek

Download the latest driver from Intel site, uninstall the Intel device driver from Device Manager then install the latest driver. See this Tutorial.

Re: Laptop Internet is dead

Verify that all your Network Services are Started from Control Panel.
Click on start and type services.msc press enter. On Dependency Tab, check the Dependecies make sure that they are also Started.

• COM+ Event System (for WZC issues)
• Computer Browser
• DHCP Client
• DNS Client
• Network Connections
• Network Location Awareness
• Remote Procedure Call (RPC)
• Server
• TCP/IP Netbios helper
• WLAN AutoConfig (for Vista and Windows 7 only)
• Workstation

Let's also scan for any possible Malware by using Free Malwarebytes, no need to post the logs. Malwarebytes : Malwarebytes Anti-Malware PRO removes malware including viruses, spyware, worms and trojans, plus it protects your computer

Re: Laptop Internet is dead

Have you installed any new software recently for example a new internet security package at all?

Have you tried connecting it up via ethernet cable from Laptop to router and see if you have internet connectivity?

Re: Laptop Internet is dead

Try connecting the laptop to the router using an ethernet cable to see if you have internet connectivity if you do not have connectivity this will point to a general issue not just a wireless issue.
