[SOLVED] Java

I'm having a problem with running Java on my computer... whenever I go to a website and try to do something that requires Java, it will not allow the page to load, ex. Onchat. I go and try to load a chatroom (which requires Java) and it says tha applet has loaded but it hasn't. So I went to tools, and internet options, then advanced and made sure that all three boxes under Java were checked, which they weren't, so I checked them and it prompted me to restart my computer, which I did. When it restarted I attempted to load the chatroom again and I still experienced the same problems.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

oops

That was me posting above, I forgot to login.
I have windows 98, and it came with it... I'm not too sure.
Ok to find your version of IE:
open IE
click help > about IE
Then you should see a version.

Some things you can try. Updateing to IE 5.5.

Problems Viewing Java Programs with NetZip Installed

How to Troubleshoot Java Problems in Internet Explorer
IE Version: 5.00.2614.3500

And I'm about to check out those links, I'll let you know what happens.
Also try upgrading to IE 5.5, that might help some.
I tried upgrading and it still wont let me run Javascripts! HEEEEEELP!
You try taking a look at the MS articles?
"The article you were looking for is not currently available, or you may have mistyped the address. Please check and try again, or use Search to locate the article you need."

That's what it says when I try to view the second article, and I don't have NetZip installed...
Go in and restore all the settings to default and see if that helps.
I have done all these things and nothing is working!!! AAAGGGHHHH!!! Please help someone.......I am going crazy.
You might not have Virtual machine installed... If you go to windowsupdate.com and look for IE updates you might find something useful there.
