Hi, I am trying to copy a song onto a cd. This message comes up and I can't seem to understand how to solve it. I went to an answer you gave on
http://www.techsupportforum.com/for...not-accessible-incorrect-function-247297.html

I tried this but don't seem to see the "enable recording" button. I opened the Properties etc.....
The 2nd answer is way too complicated for me.......
I have tried another blank cd but the same thing happens...... I need a simple way of doing this if possible please?????
Thanks
Jennifer

Re: Incorrect Function

Why don't you try CDBurner XP. This is a light and easy to use software.
Now from what I understand, you want to burn a song onto a CD, is that correct? Are you trying to make an Audio CD? Be aware that you can only burn an Audio disc once, you cannot go back and add to it later. So have all of your songs that you want to burn ready to go as you can't go back and add later.
Where is the song coming from? Is it on your HDD or is it on another CD? If on a CD, then you must Rip the song from the CD and save it to your HDD to burn it to another CD.

Re: Incorrect Function

Hi , Many thanks for the replies.
The song, I bought from itunes and downloaded it onto my desktop for copying. It is Mpeg4 ( whatever that means!)
When I put the c d in, then right click to "send to" it is NOT recognised in the list. So, I went to "my computer" then tried to open it from there and that is when I get the pop up saying "Is not accessible , incorrect function".....

Not sure what to do next.....

Thanks
Jennifer

You cannot burn an Audio CD in Windows Explorer (what your trying to do) You can only burn Data disc. If you wanted to burn an Audio disc, you would have to use Windows Media Player and add your MP4 file to a playlist. Do you want a 1 song CD? Because you cannot add to it later.
Did try any of the suggestions in the Quote?

Re: Incorrect Function

Ah I see, many thanks for that, I hadn't realised. Yes it is only one song.
I have Firefox.
I will try to put it in my Windows Media Player and see what happens...... Gosh, this is awfully complicated ! ( well, for my small brain anyway!)
Fingers crossed..

Are you sure you want a 1 song CD? There must be some other songs you can download to add to your collection?

Did you read the Idiots Guide in the link that is in the quote above from post #3?
You do have to convert your MP4 file to an MP3 first before you can burn it. You can do this in the free media player iTunes.
