I am hoping you guys know if there is a way to get all the files back??? :4-dontkno

Thanks in advance!!

P.S. I'm running Ubuntu 8.04

Re: I deleted my etc/samba/

Hey thanks for the reply wmorri!! Well I have tried to reinstall samba a few times to get the config files back, but for some reason they never come back. The only file in the folder is smbpasswd.??? sorry im on another computer and I remember the full name of the file.

The reason I deleted the files was b/c samba kept failing and i'm not a linux genius so I thought why not delete the files in /etc/samba/ and then reinstall since uninstalling and reinstalling didn't change those files at all.

So if I need to rebuild the files is there a way to download or copy all the defaults?

Thanks,
JeKyL

AHHHH!!! I got samba working!!! I have an ubuntu box at work that I got samba working on so I will just copy the files needed and then paste on my machine at home and it will be all set. Thanks for your help!
