Re: I deleted my etc/samba/

Hi,

I would start by re-installing samba on your system. That should get all the default config files back. If you had specific config files you might have to re-write them.

Cheers!

Re: I deleted my etc/samba/

Hey thanks for the reply wmorri!! Well I have tried to reinstall samba a few times to get the config files back, but for some reason they never come back. The only file in the folder is smbpasswd.??? sorry im on another computer and I remember the full name of the file.

The reason I deleted the files was b/c samba kept failing and i'm not a linux genius so I thought why not delete the files in /etc/samba/ and then reinstall since uninstalling and reinstalling didn't change those files at all.

So if I need to rebuild the files is there a way to download or copy all the defaults?

Thanks,
JeKyL
