I am trying to assign shortcut for desktop icons this way: right click on the icon>properties and in the Shortcut key field i am inserting the key combination, but it doesn't work. If i click with the mouse on the icon it launches the program, but keyboard shortkey doesn't work.

How to fix this?

I've used AHK a bit myself, but not to it's full potential; it's a pretty awesome program.

Please mark this thread as solved.

I have another annoyance. The combination ctrl+alt+del launch task manager instead of restarting the laptop. Any idea why this is happening?

That's what it should do. When you hit Ctrl+Alt+Del it should take you to a page where you can start Task Manager, shut down Windows, Log Off, etc.
