If you don't want it to expire, you buy it. There is not and never has been a free version of the full MS Office. The only free versions have been those supplied through OEMs for sale with a PC and users cannot legitimately obtain those any other way or install them on any other PC.

Libre Office is a free suite you could try to see if it meets your requirements.

I know this thread is a couple of days old now, but for the benefit of future readers, Open Office is another free alternative.

This laptop came with Office 2010 but it was only a 60 day free trial so it went the same journey as the rest of the bloatware and my HDD was 328MB lighter.

I just copied MS Works across from my other laptop and used its OEM batch file to get it up and running.

If Works was an OEM installation, you did so illegally.
