Ok recently i wanted to fit an old computer laying around into this cool horizontal case i bought from newegg.com (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811121010) heres the problem, for some reason i could not get the bios to load up, at first i thought ok ill try reseating the ram and the video card, and reset the bios ect. still nothing, as an experiment to narrow down the problem, i took out the parts from the horizontal case and put them in a vertical one, i turn it on an whala! it work bios shows up everything is cool, then from suspicions of the horizontal case being the problem, i took another old computer laying around and put the parts into the horizontal case, this time the thing wouldn't even turn on! i checked everything even tried a different power supply, idk what it is about this horizontal case, anyone have any ideas?

Re: Horizontal Case Problem

Re: Horizontal Case Problem

Basically metal on your mobo or other component touching the metal of the case in places it shouldn't. For instance, if you have a motherboard standoff in a place where there is no screw, this could cause a problem.

Re: Horizontal Case Problem

im now getting the feeling there could be something that happened to the "power SW" cable if i take the power SW cable form another case and plug it into the horizontal one, will it start up, or is this a dangerous test to do?

Re: Horizontal Case Problem

If you are referring to the power switch that hooks up through the small pins on the mobo (usually in the lower right corner if looking at a tower case) then no, it is safe.
