In Firefox, go to Tools>Addons and then Extensions. Find the AVG Toolbar and uninstall it there.

You could also try a repair install of AVG.

Personally, I don't recommend AVG these days. It's gone downhill a lot. Avast or Avira would be better. I use Avast.

If you do decide to replace AVG, you will have to run it's Remover tool from here: AVG - Download tools

Thank you. I just upgraded to AVG 2011. I was using AVG 9. If this doesn't solve the probelm, I'll change anti virus programs. I wasn't aware of AVG's falling from grace. I will consider your recommendations. I'll mark this thread solved.
