I'm an avid minecraft player.
which means I'm practically dependant on Java.

I was having problems updating to 1.1, so i decided to reinstall Java, i did so.
I began having horrible problems.
for one, minecraft.net/play says there's the JRE Plugin missing, when i try to go install it, it doesn't detect it even after a restart.

I tried JavaRa, and then restarting.
it got java back on, Hooray!

Minecraft.net/play still doesn't work.

Then i tried showing this issue to a Programmer friend i have Via Ustream's Desktop Presenter...
but then i saw that it didn't work, most likely because it'
s dependant on JRE.

I've have Java installed for a very long time, I haven't ever needed to Reinstall it

Minecraft and the Desktop Presenter are amongst few of the things that have since stopped working.

I'd appreciate any input on this subject, I'm beginning to get very ffrustrated, as the internet hasn't shown me any good answers.

P.S. I tried Installing JDK, about to restart now for it, will post if successful.

Re: Google Chrome and Desktop Presenter not detecting JRE

Nope. I restarted and minecraft still won't run from the browser. all i get is an orangeish screen saying "Java (TM) Plugin is not Installed. Click here to download Plugin."

I'm worried i might've uninstalled something that i have to buy because when i go to download it from java.com, it shows the 32-bit and the 64-bit versions, (Offline)
I have no idea what (Offline) Means for those installers.

It says it's for computers without an internet connection, but i've no idea.

The java i uninstalled in the first place had come with my computer.

I'm beginning to get frustrated :banghead:

when i try to install the plugin, it says it's already installed, even if it's the different version (32, 64 bit)
I have the 64 bit one installed right now, because it won't let me install the 32 bit one.

They were both installed before i uninstalled them.
Umm, I don't know what to do at this point:(

Re: Google Chrome and Desktop Presenter not detecting JRE

Hi,

I am interested in seeing that the error log says when you go to the minecraft website, and try and run the program in the browser. Please follow the directions for your OS from How to enable logging and then see what happens when you try the minecraft browser.

Re: Google Chrome and Desktop Presenter not detecting JRE

Sorry for the late reply, i finally fixed my problem!

Somehow, 32-bit Java didn't install correctly, and i thought it was 64-bit that didn't install right, so i naturally kept trying to reinstall 64-bit, not knowing it was 32-bit that wasn't installed in the first place.

Thanks for the help, anyways, wmorri! :D
