Not sure where to put this. I was working on a friends pc with XP Pro. I could't reach Gmail with IE. Said 'page couldn't be displayed'. So I lauched FireFox and it said something about a server certificate had expired. So I clicked on 'make an exception' or something similar. So I can get to Gmail now but... A small window comes up asking for a 'master password'. I click 'clear' and I can get to Gmail. How do I get rid of that annoying password window?

Re: Gmail, Certificate Experation...

None of that sounds normal. I've been using gmail for about 4 years and have never seen any of that with either IE or FF.

I'd reinstall the entire browser.

Were you there to clean-up malware ? This may be the resultant damage.

Re: Gmail, Certificate Experation...

Apparently they had a power outage and it set the clock back to 2004 and that's why it saw the server certificate as invalid. As soon as I set the correct date, the problem went away.
