Hi again.
The fan on my Radeon X1650 graf.card was runnig wild with a sound like a helikopter.
So I went to the shop and a very helpfull gay advice me to buy a nVida Geforce 8500 GS card (Gigabyte GV-N84S-512I)

The card works almost as it should but I've got an annoying shade on the right side of all letters and icons and so on. Or is there an echo it is called.
The screen is also a bit fuzzy
I have tried my best to set the screen, but there are not many options.

The old ATI driver is deleted.

Did you use a driver cleaning program when you deleted the old driver?

Also make sure your refresh rate is set to the monitors native refresh rate.

No I did not use a drivecleaner.
I deleted the driver together with the ATI controllcenter from Revo Uninstaller.
What software shall I use?
Shall I delete and reistall the nVida driver.?

The refresh rate is as before 59hz (1680 x 1050)

Info: the shadows or eccos is on the right side and fading out . On a vertikal line can I see it 4 times.

NB!
STOP THIS IS NOT A VIDEOCARD PROBLEM

I deletet my drivers in safe mod and found out that the problem was there too and also in the boot-pix.
I place a new question in an other thread.

Monitor Acer X223W problems.

I have earlier post this when I think it was a graph.card problem.

Now I know it is a monitor problem.
I bought this AcerX223W(VGA) a couple of years ago and it works ok.
But when I updated from XP to Seven a month ago I spotted a shadow on the right side of all objects. As an echo of the object repeated several times. Fading out
I thought it was the graphics card. I bought a new card.
But the shadow did not disappear, it became stronger.
I have deleted and reinstalled all the drivers, update settings, changed the cable and so on. Nothing helped. Finally, I connected the monitor to my laptop and the error was still there. A monitor error!
I try to correct the monitor settings on the monitor with no luck ..
Does anyone have an idea or must I buy a new monitor?
(Is there a monitor-test-software?)

FSP is poor quality psu and 250 watt poor quality psu is not enough power for that unit for sure.
Nvidia 8500 video card is much poorer quality than 1650 Ati card. Go to at least 8600 model. What do you do with computer?

This is an old PC (2006) I'd think to use as a multimedia center.
Originally it was an Acer Aspire E380 with Windows XP multimedia.
But after several virus attacks and other problems I bought me a new one.
So I emptied the machine completely and installed Windows7 Home Premium


Can a poor PSU creates the errors that I have on my monitor or?

Can a poor PSU also be to blame for that machine only accepts 3Gb memory and the fan on my old card went bananas?
(I can deliver the new graphic card back to the store and get a better one.)

Please advice me. I'm a newbe when it comes to what's inside a PC.

What kind of PSU do I need?
I can get this for a low price.
HEDEN PC-PSU PSXA840 560W

And grap.card ?
XFX RADEON HD5450 1GB DDR3 PCI-E VGA/HDMI/DP LP
or
HIS Radeon HD 6570 1GB DDR3

It must be a PSI-E card
I must have VGA output and want me HDMI.
It is very narrow space so the fan / cooling fins must not build too much.

I'm not a gamer.

that is also a poor power supply unit. You should choose a good make and you should be going for 650w for either of those cards you should be going for a corsair 650TX or xfx or seasonic equivelant.

But as I said before I'm a newbe when it comes to what's inside a PC.
So I hope someone can give me a more detailed advice.
I have this desktop that I want to use as a multimedia machine.

WIN-TV: Haupager HVR-1110
Monitor: Acer X223W (VGA)

The fan on the graph.card runs like the sound of a helicopter
The monitor have echos also when I connect it to an other PC (laptop)
The monitor have it's own PSU.

This is a low cost project. Max 200$ ex. monitor
I'm not a gamer.But watch movies and listen to music and editing photos.

My questions is.:
Do I need to buy a new monitor?
What graph.card will do? I want HDMI.
What PSU will do?

To be purchased in Sweden / Norway.

the psu I mentioned above will do for a decent card suggest GTX 220.

Good monitor is 22" samsung syncmaster.

that is another poor supply you have chosen. There is no point in buying a good system and graphics card and a poor psu. Good power supplies are corsair, seasonic and xfx.

The psu is the most important part of your system. That card is good but your power supply will struggle with it at some point. There are plenty of psus out there that claim they are a certain wattage but they really are not and they use low quality capaictors like the one you have chosen does which means it will cause you problems and possible system damage.

What country do you live in because I guarantee you that you can buy good power supplies in your country. As I said powering a good pc with a poor psu is pointless because you risk system damage and a psu isn't as expensive as having to buy a whole new system.
