Re: Explorer crashes when window closed! (Must Read please..)

thank you very much

but

is there anything i can do to stop showing this message

Internet Explorer is currently running with add-ons disabled ?
Re: Explorer crashes when window closed! (Must Read please..)

i tried to clear the address (in pop up blocker system) but still message pops up
Re: Explorer crashes when window closed! (Must Read please..)

That wasn't a solution to the problem , that is to help me narrow down the problem. Which I now know it is a problem with an add-on, please do this:

Produce a list of IE add ons

  • Click Here to download StartUplist. Save it to your desktop.
  • Extract the files.
  • You should now have StartupList.exe double click on it.
  • Wait until it is complete.
  • Right click on Browser Helper Objects (BHO), click on Save Node and all sub nodes as.. then when the save box appears type in BHO.txt and click Save.
  • Now right click on ActiveX Objects, click on Save Node and all sub nodes as.. then when the save box appears type in ActiveX Objects.txt and click Save.
  • Then right click on Internet Explore toolbar, click on Save Node and all sub nodes as.. then when the save box appears type in IE toolbars.txt and click Save.
  • Last one, right click on Internet Explore buttons/tools, click on Save Node and all sub nodes as.. then when the save box appears type in IE buttons.txt and click Save.

Open up the folder where Startuplist.exe is stored and locate thes files, please post them in your next reply:
  • BHO.txt
  • ActiveX Objects.txt
  • IE toolbars.txt
  • IE buttons.txt

Re: Explorer crashes when window closed! (Must Read please..)

Ok, they all seem to be fine. We need to do a bit of trial and error until we find the problem...

Disable a add on Internet Explore 7
  • Open Internet Explorer.
  • Click the Tools button, click Manage Add-ons, and then click Disable Add-ons.
  • Click Free Download Manager, click Disable, and then click OK.
  • Close IE. Do you get the same error?
Re: Explorer crashes when window closed! (Must Read please..)

there is no Free Download Manager in the choices.. i tried the 4 choices but not Free Download Manager
Re: Explorer crashes when window closed! (Must Read please..)

Did you install a Download Manager? if so do you still use it?
Re: Explorer crashes when window closed! (Must Read please..)

yes i have download manager, but i only use it if im downloading
Re: Explorer crashes when window closed! (Must Read please..)

Lets try this one instead....

Disable a add on Internet Explore 7
  • Open Internet Explorer.
  • Click the Tools button, click Manage Add-ons, and then click Disable Add-ons.
  • Click Connection Help (Could be called PC Health), click Disable, and then click OK.
  • Close IE. Do you get the same error?
Re: Explorer crashes when window closed! (Must Read please..)

yes :(
Re: Explorer crashes when window closed! (Must Read please..)

what now O_O
Re: Explorer crashes when window closed! (Must Read please..)

they all still look fine to me, i dont know which one is the problem. you can do this:

you can nuke all the add-ons that would solve the problem. it is up to you if you do or not.

open ie click tools => internet options click on the tab advanced then click on reset. click reset on the prompt.
Re: Explorer crashes when window closed! (Must Read please..)

i had this same problem with IE6, Free Download Manager was to blame, its a add-on called

FDMIECookiesBHO Class - iefdm2.dll

disabling it worked for me
Re: Explorer crashes when window closed! (Must Read please..)

I am glad to hear you got the problem solved.
