Every time I try to open a folder or my C drive, I get the following error message: This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this. please install a program or, if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Programs control panel.
i have this problem only on the 32 bit version of Win 7,
any suggestions?
thanks

Re: error with opening files

My main PC is Win 64 bit, I then run Win 7 32 bit on Virtual PC, and Win 7 Professional on an external USB 3 HDD, all for different programs that i run and they are all legit copies of Windows, activated and updated fully

Re: error with opening files

Thanks for the reply. all the machines connect through a hub with a single DSL line. I found the problem though. Uniblue Registry Booster and Power Suite had an upgrade patch, that created the problem. I have uninstalled all their waste of time software, and all is working well.
Thanks for the assistance anyway

Never use Registry Boosters or Cleaners, they cause more problems then they fix. Please mark this thread solved in the Thread Tools at the top.
