[SOLVED] Dvi to hdmi compatibility problems

Well to start off with i did not know where to post this thread! But my problem is that ive just installed a 2 new components, an xfx 8800 gts 512mb alpha dog edition graphics card and 4gb ddr 2 800mhz ram, and also a new operating system, windows vista 64bit home premium edition. When i try to use my computer through my relisys 32inch high definition tv through at dvi to hdmi cable, i get no picture. I have no idea why this is, but when i use my computer through the vga port on my tv i get a picturce. All help would be appreciated. regards chris bemand.
