Hello everyone. I've done some reading here but couldn't find the right thread for my issues...prolly been answered somewhere. I've just downgraded to xp pro from vista with my hp pavillion a6302. the hp site says that they don't support doing this and offer no drivers. I have an Nvidia 6100v chipset or nvidia mcp61 and would like to know where i can get the drivers needed to make xp run the way it should. Thanks in advance. Bryce

Re: Drivers for Nvidia6100v

Hi Bryce,
Seeing you are downgrading this may help us figure out what you need.
Here is the spec sheet for a A6302F model HP:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/...tem=pv-56327-1&os=2093&dlc=en&product=3644917
If this is the correct model this is the chipset driver:
http://www.nvidia.com/object/nforce_nf4_winxp32_8.26_11.09.html
Here is the Graphics Card:
http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_175.16_whql.html
This should take care of most of your missing drivers. Check the device manager for any error. Be sure you have done a MS Update (you need at least SP1 for the chipset to install and maybe SP2 to get the sound up and running)
Post back with any errors.
Let us know how it goes.
Bill

Re: Drivers for Nvidia6100v

Just got back to my home computer and checked device manager....there are still a couple of yellow question marks. Under other devices it has two....one of them is Audio device on high definition audio bus......the other one is ...PCI Simple Communications Controller. I've tried a couple of different things, but so far no luck. I've got driver genius pro and have run it a couple of times but it seems to not want to download the drivers for these devices.....any suggestions or help is greatly appreciated. I'm thinking that both of my puters ...I also have a laptop with some issues that I'll ask for some guidance in another thread...have been infected and I can't seem to get rid of the problems.

I just ran the windows driver update and now have no more yellow problems so hopefully it is fixed. I'll post back if there are any more issues. Thanks for the help. Bryce

Re: Drivers for Nvidia6100v

Hi Bryce,
Please let us know if you have issues with this PC.
But your last POST is confusing me . Is it you original problem on the computer you originally posted.? Or is this a new problem on a different PC?
Bill
PS- Do not mean to confuse you, but I am on Chemo (Cancer) and can get easily lost.

Re: Drivers for Nvidia6100v

Didn't mean to confuse anyone. The driver problem with this computer seems fixed for now. The other computer is a laptop and has some issues that i posted about in another thread . I'm still trying to get that one straightened out. Bryce
