Re: Driver_IRQL_Not_Less_or_Equal

Hello,

I suspect SPTD is causing this problem at least for the most part; it's possible there is also a network problem involved.

Uninstall Daemon Tools, and then remove SPTD itself with this tool: http://www.duplexsecure.com/download/SPTDinst-v178-x86.exe

Uninstall your current versions of Avast and AVG using these directions:

https://support.avast.com/index.php...viewarticle&kbarticleid=504&nav=0,1,22#idt_02

AVG - Download tools

Install the latest one: Compare avast! products and get upgrades and add-ons

If the BSODs persist, run driver verifier: http://www.techsupportforum.com/for...-windows-7-and-vista-bsod-related-473665.html

Re: Driver_IRQL_Not_Less_or_Equal

So far so good, no BSODs. However, these BSODs first started happening when I was playing a game (dragon age II), and would happen completely at random. When I tried fixing it the first time by uninstalling and reinstalling my video card driver, this only made things worse, causing blue screens to happen no matter what I was doing. Hopefully, however, my problem has been resolved, so thank you.

Hi again. Everything was going fine until today, while playing a different game (Heroes of Newerth), I got the blue screen twice. I will go ahead and run driver verifier for now.

Re: Driver_IRQL_Not_Less_or_Equal

I suggest you uninstall Bit Defender for now:

This filter and/or its supporting applications should handle this condition. If this condition persists, contact the vendor.
More relevantly, I believe, is this repeated warning:

Re: Driver_IRQL_Not_Less_or_Equal

I tried running the stress test program twice, and both times within 5 seconds of starting it my computer blue screened. Also, I cannot for the life of me figure out how to boot from my USB on this computer, as it did not happen automatically like it said might happen. I have tried every sing F key and all of them bring up the same two options of booting windows vista or running windows memory diagnostic; not sure how to get into the BIOS otherwise. I'm beginning to think my best option at this point would be to just reformat my computer.

Re: Driver_IRQL_Not_Less_or_Equal

Keep in mind that formatting the system will not help if this is a hardware problem.

To boot into the BIOS, try pressing F1, F2, F10, F12, or Del immediately upon powering up, during the POST.

Re: Driver_IRQL_Not_Less_or_Equal

So I ended up reformatting my computer and installing windows 7 instead of vista. I do appreciate the help you have given me, and hopefully it wasn't a hardware problem. I will admit I have been a bit careless in downloading software, and will try to be more cautious in the future.
