Re: driver installation problem with R112732

Are you showing any driver errors listed in Device Manager?

What happens when you attempt to load the driver? Post any error message received.

Yes, I have a yellow flag on my video controller (VGA compatible).

Cab you post the hardware id for the device (instructions below)

Open the Device Manager
Right Click on the Device in question
Properties
Details Tab

In XP the VEN_ #### and DEV_ #### is located under Device Instance ID
In Vista and Win7 the VEN_ #### and DEV_#### is located under Hardware ID

Thank-you!, Thank-you! Sooooo much, at finally works after 3 days of trying to fix my son's computer. I will now store all the drivers in a safe place.
Thanks again, you made my day!

Glad you got it sorted.
MANY thanks - Re: [SOLVED] driver installation problem with R112732

Thank you! I signed-up for this site JUST to thank brigadoon for having this problem and posting and to makinu1der2 for posting the fix reply.

I reformatted my Dell e1505 and everything was coming along, but I noticed the screen looked at little odd and I couldn't get my Windows Media Player to play any DVDs. I downloaded the VLC player and it is incredible. Anyway, those yellow question-marks were keeping me down. I'd been searching for half the night when I decided to just cut and paste the error into Google and I found this post and site. I remembered that my computer rejected downloading ATI until I downloaded other things, but of course I totally forgot to download it again in the proper order. Downloading and seeing an exclamation point, instead of a question-mark put a big smile on my face.

I restarted and now everything is great on my over-priced Dell. :) I just keep typing becauase I'm so happy to finally have my computer right again. I haven't had my Media Player working right in over a year. My warranty expired on my Dell and I was NOT going to pay money to figure this out. I would have, but I'm really poor right now. Computer problems never happen at a "good" time, but I've learned so much from this experience. I can't tell you how much time I've spent trying to resolve these issues the last several days and how long I've spent on the dell drivers site!

Again, thank you so much makinu1der2... YOU ROCK!
