I recently reinstalled windows 98 and cannot set my display adapter to allow greater than 640x480 resolution. Apart from cracking open the computer box and visually checking the card I do not know which adapter I currently have. Any quick fixes for a semi coherent windoze user? :)

Some video cards when you first turn on the computer will come up and say what kind of video card it is. Other then that, and maybe finding a program you can download (I don't know of any) you'll have to pop open the case and take a look.

I indeed found some software to find my driver. It was a Voodoo Banshee.

The site in question is http://www.glsetup.com/about.htm .

It is a small program which auto detects and installs neccesary drivers for 3d graphics cards. Within a half minute my system was looking the way it should.

Thanks for your quick response. I will try to repay the favor to someone her. Pass it forward, as it were.
