Hello,
the battery wont take a charge on my Dell. I have checked the adapter and its correct. The laptop will run without the battery installed. I have replaced the battery and its still not charging. Under the control panel, power options my battery meter says battery not present. Any thoughts, Thanks, Kevin

Hi kevino321, welcome to TSF

Try cleaning the contacts on the laptop for the battery. remove battery and power adapter and hold the power button down for 30 to 60 seconds. and then try it. might be a problem with the charging curcuit.
