Hi, I'm new here. I didn't know where to turn for some guidance, as I'm not too keen on taking this laptop back to the shop as I've already returned there once.

Anyway, down to my problem. My laptop is the HP Pavilion g6-1296sa (As seen here; HP Pavilion g6-1296sa 15.6" Laptop - Red at cheap prices | PC World) and it was the display model when bought (I'm not sure if this would be the cause of my problem, but from past experiences and how the system reacts I've sort of ruled it out)

When on battery, the mouse cursor is very laggy and jumps around the screen rather than producing a nice smooth feeling. The wireless also just gives up and disconnects from the current network after a few minutes, and when I try and connect to the network again it then can't find any network whatsoever. Flash games online and audio is also buggy, with the occasional jump. All of these problems disappear when I switch the power profile to High Performance, or if I plug in the laptop. But obviously I want to make the most of my battery life and keep it on the "HP Reccomended" profile.

Can anybody help me out?

Re: Decreased Performance when on Battery

You can tweek the power plan to find what works best for you. If you click on "More power options" from the battery meter in the system tray, it will bring up the power options panel. From there you can click "Create a power plan" in the left column. Go through the menus and pick what works for you.

I've already tried to create my own power plan (Named Balanced) with what I think would be viable on battery life, but the plan is just the same as HP Recommended's effects on the system. It seems the only way to get rid of the failing wireless and buggy trackpad is putting the system on High Performance or plugging it in.

You can change that power plan by going "Change Power setting" below balenced then go to Change avanced power settings. Under wifi and tracball devices tweak the power settings for each one to full power when only on battery.
