Hi,

Planning to build a new PC based on :
ASUS M5A97 PRO 970
AMD FX-4 4100 Black Edition 4 Core 3.6Ghz
650 Watt PSU
Saphire or XFX radeon 6870

Now the question is .. What RAM should I go for?
Initially I have picked the Corsair 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 1333MHz XMS3.

However while reading through this forum I have noticed quite a few builds based on faster memory modules.

The board will support DDR3 2133(O.C.)/1866/1800/1600/1333/1066 MHz according to ASUS.

Now is there something I need to know before going for the faster 1800 / 1866 / 1600 modules? Does this include additional tuning / BIOS changes. Would these faster options be stable with my build?

And most of all: will there be a signifact difference in performance?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Correct RAM

yes, i have seen the 1600 in quite a few mentioned builds. So, it's not worth going into the top notch ones? (1866?)
