[SOLVED] Converting .wav to .mp3

Hi there Im new to the site (joined today) and looked for a place that this topic would fit and maybe im blind but I couldnt find one so I figured sound cards lol

If im way off mods pls move this thread and im sorry for my stupidity

Anyways I recently got done unpacking all my stuff from the move and found my old cd case with about 100 burnt cds from back in my highschool days and since mp3 didnt even exist back then they are all normal burnt cds with the songs in .wav format

I would love to take those cds and compile all the songs onto mp3s cds...

(100 normal cds with 15 or so songs on each would be way better in mp3 on a few discs!)

Not sure what program is best? How easy it is to do? How long it would take? Whats the fastest way? Would it be faster with 2 cd burners?

Thanks in advance for your help

Justin

Re: Converting .wav to .mp3

I made them back in probably 1996-1998 they were mp3 song files from probably napster and burnt to cd-r's in normal audio format....so the song files are in .wav right now I need to convert them to mp3 files

Id be willing to purchase a good program that can convert .wav files off a burnt disc to mp3 format if it was worth it and fast and effective
Re: Converting .wav to .mp3

thanks FreeRIP works great! Surprised that even some cds that are so badly scratched and didnt play in my vehicle and skipped actually read and convert to mp3 perfect!
