[SOLVED] Configuring a secure wireless internet connection via company network

704 Views 9 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  nvisibl
I'm looking to setup 2 x Wireless routers for external web access for customers.

I have a dedicated broadband line (ADSL) of which I would like the Wireless routers to use in order to gain web access.

The 2 x wireless routers are connected via ethernet to the company LAN infrastructure, as is the dedicated broadband router.

I don't however want users of the wireless routers to be able to see or access any of the IP's on the company network.

Does anyone have some advice as to how I may accomplish this?

You will need to do something about isolating them on the company LAN, because the routers won't do that trick.

You need to provide details of exactly what equipment you have on the company LAN to get further recommendations.

Since the Vigor 3300 Draytek supports VLANs, can't you just isolate their connection on it's own VLAN? That should provide total isolation if you don't route between it and the company network.

Glad we could help.
I'm not familiar with the configuration of that firewall appliance, but I'll bet if you talk to the manufacturer support folks they can probably point you in the right direction.
