hello all a couple days ago my computer started doing some things really slowly . such as when i click google chrome it takes up to 30 seconds to open the browser, and sometimes it would be instant. windows explorer also seemed to be slow about 30 seconds to open control panel or my computer and so on. but once chrome or whatever was opened it operated fine. i did some minor troubleshooting and found some similar problems on some forums they all said it had something to do with my harddrive and i should just replace it. so i took their advice i went and picked up a new hard drive installed my os and drivers but the same issue is still happening although to a lesser extent. i have also had a couple freezes both during operation and during start up which i havent had a problem with for most of the time i have had this computer. im not really worried about it since my new computer arrives in a couple weeks but i was planning on giving this to my mother then since im fairly sure she still runs xp on a dell from the nineties but i would like it to be in good running condition when i give it to her. i am hoping you guys can help me out i have attached the dxdiag i just ran to this.

updated windows and such been almost an hour without any crashes still a little slow though pretty sure its not fixed just yet

to summarize once i replaced the hard drive, formatted the new hard drive and installed a clean install of windows i was having similar problems to the ones i was having before i swapped hard drives but once i updated windows the issue seems to be resolved. it has now been over 24 hours since i have had a problem with the computer. gonna go ahead and mark this issue as resolved
