i was wondering if the hangs were caused by the processor overheating.. cuz i heard a friend says that amd overheat faster than intel cores.. is that right? or maybe someone can help me out here.. the only application that im using is WoW, google chrome, bit torent and VLC...

Re: Computer freezes and hangs

Hello,

Try running the three Prime95 tests: CPU - Stress Test with Prime95 - Windows 7 Forums

AMD CPUs typically run cooler than Intel ones do; that means that the same temperature is relatively higher on an AMD processor. Keep an eye on Speedfan for the first 30 minutes of Prime95 (especially the Large FFTs one), post the temps here.

Also run Memtest86: RAM - Test with Memtest86+ - Windows 7 Forums

Boot into Safe Mode with Networking and see if the crashes persist there too.
