[SOLVED] Changed CPU cooler post code 98

As the title says I changed my CPU cooler. I went from a small three heat pipe with center fan to a spire thermax eclipse 2. After completely disassembling everything Cleaning everything and reassembling everything which came out looking great I might add I have a huge problem. Computer won't boot. There's also a buzzing coming from the CPU or it's cooler. My motherboard throws a code 98. My manual has no mention of this code. I've also searched manufacturer documents and found no information on the code. Setup is a dfi LAN party dk p45-t2rs plus, mb intel core 2 quard q6600 CPU, corrsair dominator DDR2 1066 not sure of the timings, gpu is a msi n460gtx cyclone 1gdb5 powered by an 850w power supply. All was fine until the cooler swap. Any info would be great.

Re: Changed CPU cooler post code 98

I find nothing relating to Code 98 so it must be a DFI thing.
Changing a CPU HSF should not cause any problems so I would guess something was knocked loose in the replacement process. Try reseating your RAM & GPU and check all the power connections are properly attached.

Check for a short on the bottom of the motherboard where the lower Cooler bracket is located.
