Hi! I've recently did a fresh factory reset on my laptop(HP Pavilion dv7 4090eb) and all was going relativly well untill i decided to update my catalyst control center.

What basicly happens is the install of the latest version starts alright up untill a point where it sets my resolution to 800 x 600. (i'm assuming it deletes my old CCC at that point?). But anyway the intall continues for about a minute and from that point on it suddenly bluescreen crashes. Happens everytime i try the update.

Any advice on what to do or who i should be threatening to delete on my laptop so it will start co-operating with me?

specs:
Windows 7 Home Premium
intel i7 Q720 @ 1.60GHz
6GB RAM
Ati radeon mobility 5650HD

Re: Catalyst Control Center results in bluescreen crash

Hello,

Are you downloading the driver from the HP Support site?

If you are trying the install from the AMD Support site it may not be compatible.

Thanks for replying!
You're right! I was downloading it from the AMD support site.

thanks again!
