Just build a new system, and I can't intall the 64bit version of vista home prem.
After install when it tries to run it for the first time i'm keep getting the blue screen, and it doesn't say much other then to check my harware or software. Just a general message.
I installed my Xp 32bit it works just fine. No problems.

I got
Asus p5n-t deluxe nForce 780i
Core 2 duo E8400 3.0
4X Patriot viper pc8500 ddr2 1066Mhz
2X EVGA GeForce 8800 GT 512MB
2X Samsung 1TB SATA
Creative X-FI Xtreme gamer fatality

I try alot of diffrent hardware combination
single video card
single HD
no sound card
swithed around tha ram, less ram more ram
it still does the same thing
Don't know what to do other then maybe to get XP 64 bit
or stick with 32 bit xp with 4 GB ram

any kind of advice will be helpfull

Re: Can't seem to intall Vista64bit on new build

64 bit windows will only work with a 64 bit processor.

check if you have a setting in the bios to enable 64x

The E8400 should be a 64 Bit processor.

You'll likely need to only have 1 RAM block inserted while installing (reinstall, don't just resume), then install the hotfix from microsoft.

Could be some other issue though, but try that first.
Re: Can't seem to intall Vista64bit on new build

Vista has a problem about loading if there is more than 2gb of ram. 32 or 64 vista. Remove 2 gb and then load vista. if it loads, get all the updates and other software and then put the 2gb back in.
