I download some Xmas pics on a cd and now my computer is not recognizing the cd drive. I already checked in "my computer" and can't find it there either.

Hi briellenj, welcome to TSF

try removing the filters if their are any. Your CD drive or DVD drive is missing or is not recognized by Windows or other programs

Remove any discs from the drive. Go to Start/Run and type devmgmt.msc and press enter. In the Device Manager is your CD/DVD drive listed there? Are there any yellow marks next to the device? If so, run the Microsoft FixIt from the previous post from oscer1
