Recently, it seems I'm having some issues with my C-drive. I'm using an Acer Aspire laptop thats running Windows Vista Basic. It has a 68.7 GB C-drive and a 68.5 GB D-drive. Today I noticed that the memory for my C-drive was almost entirely used up (I hadn't noticed or really checked this before, so I don't know if this is sudden or if this has been the case for awhile). I found out because I when I tried to save a large audio file (WAV, 60:00 long) the computer told me that I did not have enough space to save the file.
Now, I have (or, rather had) a lot of music on my computer. The thing is, I have always stored all of it in the D-drive, and not the C-drive. But due to the space-warning, and due the fact that I am not the brightest bulb when it comes to computers, I just went ahead and took all the music off my computer. Just to make sure (and also, I have no idea what elese it could have been). It left my D-drive squeaky clean, but my C-drive is still telling me that it's almost out of memory (3.42 GB free out of 68.7, as of now).
So, in order to tell where all this used-up space is coming from, I clicked properties on all the sections under C-drive and checked the size. For everything combined, not including "Users" (didn't include because of the music thing) and it totals up to 22 GB. Which is fine. Users, however, by itself totals up to 32.3 GB. The culprit is my profile, which when I check its properties, tells me that its 32.1 GB in size. However, when I go into my profile, and just select all items and check their collective size, it only totals up to 2.01 GB in size. So, I have 30 GB that went off and ran somewhere.
So, does anyone here know what I should do? Other than that, the computer is still running perfectly fine (although my computers clock has been a bit weird these days).
Anyway, any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
