Hi all. I am having problems with an old game, Command and Conquer Tiberium Sun. I had been without internet for over a week
due to an ISP change over and was having WoW withdrawals so dug this out for something to do. The game installed fine and I was happy playing it. I couldn't update it though as I had no connection. Every now and then it crashed halfway through a skirmish or something, but I would just restart the game.
I had since installed my new internet and generally spent yesterday updating and 'cleaning' the computer as I haven't done so for quite some time. This included windows update, updating Nvidia drivers, AV and firewall and also did a load of AV, spyware and registry scanning. Now I can't play the game. The disk will run, you can hear it in the drive, but when I then click on the desktop logo I get a black screen with a large cursor in the middle and everything has frozen. I have to reset the comp to get out of it. If I let the disk run, I get to the menu where I was able to update the game. But then when I click on play, the same thing happens.
I'm guessing something I've installed, uninstalled or updated is stopping it. Any ideas?
