Need help with my XP. Here's the problem. On Friday night, everything was working fine, and then the next day when I tried to open ITunes, an error message came saying there is no audio device detected (speakers are hooked up), tried un-and-pluged the speakers and still nothing. Then tried restarting the comp, then I get a blue screen saying I need more disk, then restarted again. Everything comes up, then 10 sec later I get the blue screen again and the comp shuts down
and that happens every single time when I start up the comp. it doesn't give me no time to free up some disk space.

Can u help me?

Re: Blue screen computer problems

Try rebooting in safe mode (Keep tapping F8 during system post logo HP Dell etc...)

Select Safe Mode look into your HDD and see if there is enough space. Normally lack of HDD space does not cause BOSD. Perhaps your Itunes is the blame for the BOSD or lack of HDD space. In Safe Mode Uninstall Itunes then reboot see if everything is AOK.

You can also get an external USB HDD. As Jack said, boot into Safe Mode then move your music files to the external. This should free up some space if you have a lot of music.

Re: Blue screen computer problems

You can remove the HDD from the computer, and attach it to a USB Adapter to another computer. Move your music off of the drive.
Then go to Start/Run and type CMD and press enter. In the Command Prompt type the drive letter of the now external HDD (ex) F: and press enter. The prompt turns to the drive letter (ex) F:\> now type chkdsk /R and press enter. Now type Y to unmount the drive. Check Disk will fix any file problems. If that is successful put it back in the troubled computer and try to boot normally.
