Hi,
Please guide if there are options for the auto backup system (time/date based) mentioned bellow in systems: (without any 3rd party soft)

1. Folders/Files From win server 2008 to External HDD [USB] - Every day in fixed time.
2. Folders/Files From Client PC to win server 2008 - Every day in fixed time.

All back up will do without changing format, I mean I don't need any encryption.
Such as .doc/.pdf will me same format in destination.

Also if there any 3rd party soft, then also mention.

You could set up a script to do this though I don't recommend it.

If you want to keep the file structure intact and not use something like backupexec because it puts them into a file you are limiting your possibilities.

There is a program out there that will do it. Automatic backup software - secure data with Second Copy and it works pretty good as long as you don't use it on databases or exchange, this is strictly for files like .doc, .pdf, .xls, images, ETC. only

Many thanks for the link I've checked the features. Seems that it will fulfill my requirements. But asking again, is it safe to install in server 2008?
I will first try with my server...if it works well, then purchase...:smile:

But the back up utility does not works like this?

I have it running on 2 2008 Servers

Again, I don't recommend it as opposed to a real backup solution like Backup Exec that can email me upon alerts, backup failures, and the like but it works.

Hi,
I've tested the trial version & the soft give me a good result. I've decided to purchase it. Do you know how to purchase without Credit card? I don't have.
Now, I want to take a state back up using back up utility of C drive only, in to another external HDD 120 GB.
I just follow the procedure, but as all the files & folders are stored in C drive (including Share Folder), so you can imagine it will take the full back up. As the utility not giving me the choice option so how can I take system back up only?

For alternate payment methods you'd have to contact them.

This program will not do system state backups, just like it will not do databases or exchange.

To do a system state backup, use the built in windows backup or you will have to spend the money on a program like Backup Exec

At last I have managed to purchase 2nd copy 8 (01 license) for my serer 2008 & now its running...Many thanks to you for inform me about that soft. Hope it will help me for perfect scheduled back up...

I'm glad you found it useful.

I still recommend when you can, to do a full backup product like Backup Exec though.
It may be costly at the beginning but the benefits far outweigh the initial loss
