[SOLVED] Audio Input VERY quiet, please help !!!

Hi, I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 Laptop, the audio was fine and all the sudden stopped working all together, after a few days of tinkering I got the Audio recorder/input to work but on Ventrillo my friends say it's VERY quiet, so I tried recording my voice, playback also almost unbearable, please help I have exhausted all my options including calling Dell tech support who say they can't help cause i'm not on manufacture warranty... which is stupid, I bought a Dell i need dell tech support lol... anyways, if anyone can help please do thanks

yes i've cranked my input volumes with no avail...

Have you tried using a different input device?

I'm assuming the mic is built into the laptop. is this correct? if not try using it on another machine.

it is a built in mic correct, i had it working for about a min fine than stopped working again, than reinstalled device driver and restarted, works "fine" now but super suepr quiet, barely hear a thing i say or record... it's something with the software/driver, or so i assume.

Had to use a different web browser (was using firefox, used IE) and reinstalled audio drivers completely, works fine now. Thanks.

No problem, if you want it working in firefox again you can post which version you are using and we may be able to troubleshoot it together.
