hi everyone I have 2 problems they are both with outlook express 6.
I am a VA and need to ad email addresses to be able to respond to clients for my clients if you get me.
I use microsoft ooutlook 2007 for my business which goes through my host.
But my clients are giving me emails to set up and incoming server and outgoing servers to add but it wont add them I cant even add my hotmail account using pop3.live.com and smpt.live.com. I have been all over the net but as always I come back to you and ask for help.
I got these 2 messages first:
Unable to poll for new messages on your HTTP server. Account: 'Hotmail', Server: 'http://services.msn.com/svcs/hotmail/httpmail.asp', Protocol: HTTPMail, Server Response: 'Forbidden', Port: 0, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 998, Error Number: 0x800CCC33

An unknown error has occurred. Subject 'boo', Account: 'mail.---------------.com', Server: 'mail...................., Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0B
Am I just being thick?

Even though it appears you're having the same problem, please start a new thread when you have a new issue. It's very difficult to keep two problems straight and who's working on what in a single thread.

I may have found a solution a free email server. I dont have internet, as such (don ask) so this might be a solution.

Hi there, ok i sorted the hotmail and now it is working.
My problem is I have internet 24/7 dont know where from and I have never been sent a bill. There is NO internet on my com in any shape or form. God knows how..I didnt do it and dont know who did..
But this does cause me a few problems, I have to add company email addresses to outlook express 6 but ofcourse as i dont know who is the pop3 or smtp, this is difficult. So I have been looking into Hmail free email server. The question is, is it clean - as not to snoop into my com, and can i use it just for my client emails. You see i work freelance and sometimes have to respond people using the company emails my clients have given me to use. i,e, customer services etc. Please accept my sincere apologies if you do not wish to comment. thank you all the same

Are you using Outlook or Outlook Express? . . either way, to send and receive email you will have to know the Incoming (POP) abd Outgoing (SMTP) servers.

ok so should use the hmail email server and if so is it clean - you see i hold a lot of private information and also i only want to use the hmail for certain email addresses not my personal ones.

I personally would not use Hotmail for any sensitive or confidential information

that is why i want to use the correct company addressess i.e
but i cant configurate them into outlook

Whoever is hosting your website shoul be able to tell you the server settings

i have them but i can only use an email address using my company name as the host my site all emils hve to end the same i.e [email protected], [email protected] i cant all of a sudden use [email protected] so they limit me.

You will have to work that out with your ISP . . I have deleted your email addresses to prevent you from being spammed
