[SOLVED] a file association problem in Vista

This may be an Internet Explorer subject, however, I only have the problem when using Vista. Outlook Express has stopped opening some email attachments that end in .email. I get the following message:
"this file does nort have a program associated with if for performing this action. Create an association in the Set Associations control panel" And using Vista I cannot find the Set Associations control panel. I had no problem finding it in XP. I have temporarily solved the problem by moving to FireFox and Thunderbird, probably should just stay there, it is a very good browser and email program. I used it once before, but if you have to go to Microsoft to download something or do a search they insist that you use their faulty browser.

Why did (does) Microsoft screwup everything when they build a new OS. If something is working great in the old OS why not just move that into the New OS?

Re: a file association problem in Vista

OK, I found the thing, had it all the time, what I should have said was it does not work. No amount of settig file association causes the file to be associated with anything. In XP someone told me to make a registry change and that worked, but it was an XP thng and I am not sure it will work with Vista

Altho it was designed to change the registry in XP, I tried it and it worked. Problem solved
