Hi, I just got the geforce 6600GT AGP and installed it into my pc (Replacing my own geforce 5200) and started the pc up. Upoin logging into my account when I dragged my house white trailed behind it, replacing the desktop picture I have. Then the update driver wizard came up and I clicked on auto update. It then said "Installing new drivers for geforce 6600GT but then crashed completely. Couldn't move the mouse so turned the pc off.

I tried turning the pc back on but nothing would even appear on my monitor anymore. I then replaced the 6600GT back with 5200 to check my pc was still working and it's fine.

However I'm still having trouble with this card. What could it be? I put the molex cord in the 6600GT and I have a dell 4600.

2.8ghz p4 processor
1gb ram
And hopefully this new card (If it will work)

Thanks,

Okay, I installed the card (It worked this time) but it said it isn't recieving sufficient power so lowers itself to 800x600 resoloution. I put it back to 1024 by 768 but (as the it said) won't this cause it to meltdown? I'm really worried. I have the standard dell psu.

Thanks,

Scrap it, I've decided to get a new PSU since this card is now performing like my old 5200. Anyone know a good cheap PSU?

www.overclock.co.uk is the site I'm looking to buy from.

Thanks,

Okay, I was panicking for nothing. The molex cord had just fallen out of the back of the card, I put it back in and now the cards working fine.

Thanks for the suggestion anyway man, I'll keep it in mind if I never a new one.

i have a dell 4600 and a 6200.
i will warn you that the origional power supply with the 4600 doesnt have the power for a 6600gt, you could squeeze it out if you only have 1 hd and 1 cd. cut the extra drives and pci cards back and only use the 6600gt and boot up parts. see if you can get it to work then.

common occurance with brand name computers, they usually only put in a supply large enough to run the comp as it comes to you at the time of purchase
they are usually propriatory so you need a dell wired p/s
