Some of you may have seen my numerous posts on graphic card issues but just incase you haven't heres my specs:

dell 4600
2.8ghz p4 processor
1gb ram
geforce 6600GT

I am using the basic dell PSU but my 6600GT is only 300MHz at core clock. I been reading websites and it should be 500MHz I believe?

Some of my games (battlefield 2 for example) should run perfect on medium but recieve some slowdown that shouldn't be there.

Should I just OC it using V-Tuner (I got the software with the card) to 500MHz?

Thanks,

It is could be underpowered, but...

Can I jump in? (I just went through a 6600gt, had to send it back though...)

Just to let you know...

Do you have the nvidia software? (the little green nvidia icon in the notification area) If the card underclocks itself because of power issues the software will probably pop-up and tell you about it.

Also, how did you find out the clock speed? Did you use Rivatuner? Because some 6600GT's (like MSI agp one I had) have two clock settings 2d and 3d. The 2d one is 300mhz core and the 3d is 500mhz core. At the beginning rivatuner only showed the 300mhz core speed.

Yet again 250w is pretty low for a 6600gt, especially with a dell psu.

Good luck
