do a windows update, might have a fix for the drive thru there.
sod01 not reading
hi installed a new optical drive today,
a silverstone sod01, when installed the drive is detected by windows and the bios, in device manager the drive is shown as having no issues. when a cd or dvd is put in the drive it spins up but windows can not read the disc, the windows cd drive fixer utility says that it reads the drive but it has no readable media in the drive ,which is not true.
does any one have any idea how to remedy my issue
i have installed windows 7 one my system it is otherwise the same as stated .

installed windows updates today and it did nothing
Try a few different CDs/DVDs. And it's possible the drive is faulty even though it is new.
