Hi, i dont no a lot about computers so im going to try explain this situation the best i can. I have a Packard bell computer, ive had it for about 3 years now. I play a online game called legend of mir and it has always been alright and quite fast, Over the past 3months when i try to play it logs into game and everything fine, and is no lag what so ever. Yet after about 2hrs of playins i start getting really bad freezes when im round to many people or spells. Its not the game or my connection because when i play it on the laptop its perfect. Anybody no what could be causing this? and if u need any info about my computer can u explain how i find what u need please as i dont have a clue lol thanks.

Have you run any file cleaners lately? I'd suggest, for starters, that you run a program called Temp File Cleaner. TFC. That will clear a lot of useless junk for starters. Also, you should check and update all of your drivers. How much RAM do you have in your system? If it's not the maximum RAM that your motherboard will hold, you will do yourself a big favor by maximizing your RAM. That is the cheapest and most effective method of getting the best bang for your buck out of any system short of updating your motherboard and/or processor.

Also, how many processes do you have running in the background? Go to START>RUN> and type "msconfig" and look at the START UP tab and see how many programs are starting up when you start your computer. A LOT of processes that start up when you turn on your computer are unnecessary and can be disabled for better performance of your system.

Thanks, i will try some of these methods and test when game comes back up tomorrow. Also i forgot to mention which has also started happening past couple of months, When i boot up computer i get a black screen saying "windows XP proffesional" or home edition. Didnt used to get this. if i chose home edition i get stuck at a bl ue screen that computer freezes on with loads of writing error or something..However if i choose proffestional comp boots up normal. thanks. steve

for some reason the word "Blue" in "when i bootup computer paragraph, is showing up as Black and wont change to blue. god knows why lol.
You apparently had Windows XP Home and it didn't boot and someone "Fixed" it for you and installed XP Pro. Your Home installation may be causing problems. Best to do some Spring Cleaning, download CCleaner and analyze your drive and delete all temp files it finds. And then go to Start/Run and type dfrg.msc and press Enter and then press Defrag Now.
