Hi there,
Basically lately i have noticed that my computer has worked quite sluggish. This is evident as it takes twice as long to startup, very slow at multitasking i.e music becomes very choppy when opeining a program and just in general my computer takes twice as long to do anything. The system is very clean as i maintince it quite regualry, The temps are normal and moniterd and it has very recently been formatted and dosent have a excess amount of files on it. Im really stumped though mabye it could be some sort of virus? i dont have any antivirus software though this dosent seem like virus activity as the Cpu usage seems normal when active. my system specs are as follows
Intel P4 2.4ghz (overclocked to 3ghz)
2gb ram
512 ati 1650 pro graphics card
1 250gb harddrive and 1 80gb hardrive
Also it might be worth mentioning that sometimes i boot my computer and the 250BG just dosent powerup at all. i have to open it, mess with the powere coards and reboot for it to start.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated thank you.

hey me again
New development! in the above post i outlined that one of the hardrives was switching on and off eratically. Well i have found that when it is turnd of the computer runs at 100% speed where it was before. This is really wierd .. The other hardrive does not have any OS running on it but is it still possible that mabye there is a virus just on that hardrive?
any assistance would be greatly appreciated :)

No, you can't since you don't have any active Anti Virus Program.

Suggest that you get either free or paid one installed and run a scan.

If you have to open the computer case and mess about with the HD power cable just to get it working, backup any important data stored on it, then run the disk diagnostics utility from the hard drive manufacturer's website. If it finds any major faults that it can't fix, I would suggest a new hard drive.

Have you tried using a different power connector?

Are you using IDE or SATA?

Is the non-OS drive internal or external?

Is it a RAID or standard 2 drive setup?

Is your swap file on the non-OS drive?
